You may be thinking about how this unprecedented pandemic like COVID-19 can be an opportunity for anyone.

Countries are in lockdown, people are quarantined at home; furthermore, businesses are shut down.

But, what if I tell you in this whole catastrophic crisis lies an element that can create massive opportunities for your unforeseeable future. So, read on.

what is that element that I am emphasizing so much on?

It’s “TIME”

Most of us were so busy in the turbulent life that we often complained about a lack of time, adding one small extra task such as exercising in our hectic schedule seem daunting and challenging.

However, this mammoth event and lockdown measures has given us this precious gift, “TIME” back in our life.

I have opened up the doors of opportunities for me by utilizing this precious element. Here’s how.

It’s been 4 months staying at home now, although working remotely for the company that I am working for. Nonetheless, this very short term has been the most productive and beneficial in my life.

I learned 3 new skills; investing in stocks, copy-writing, and Blogging.

Moreover, I have developed a robust morning ritual that made me much healthier than before, physically, mentally, and spiritually.

So, this was about me but, you may ask what are the possible things that you can do which will open up the doors of opportunities. Here are my top 5 suggestions

Learn a new skill

“Schooling doesn’t assure employment, but skill does”- Amit Kalantri

The best investment you will ever make is an investment in yourself. You see, I don’t believe in time is money; I believe in value is money.

The reason a CEO gets paid more than an associate is not because of the time, it is because a CEO brings in more value than an associate to the organization.

The more skillful you become, the more valuable you will be for an organization.

In this highly competitive environment, becoming a master of one is important; however, being a jack of all is equally significant.

Read a lot of books

“Readers are Leaders and Leaders are Readers”

“In my whole life, I have known no wise people who didn’t read all the time — none, zero. — Charles T. Munger

Most of the successful people have one single attribute in common, they all read a lot of books.

I have often come across people who say, I don’t like bookish knowledge, I like to learn through experiences.

Well, books are the summary of experiences that the author encountered in his/her life and are summed up in a couple of 100 pages (I exclude university textbooks and fiction books)

Why not learn from their mistakes and experiences?

So, replace watching one whole season of a series on Netflix in a single day to reading one book a day and see how you can open your doors of opportunities even in an overwhelming situation like COVID-19.

Learn how to manage your money

“It’s not how much you earn, it’s how much you keep” — Robert Kiyosaki

It’s not about how much you earn, it’s about how much you keep.

The world economy is more vulnerable than ever. Most of the people in North America are one paycheque away from being broke.

Only those businesses and individuals who know how to manage their money have survived this time of crisis.

So, if you are struggling right now with money which most people are, it’s the best time to gain financial education and learn how to manage your money.

So that you will be prepared if there is any catastrophic event in the future. (I recommend reading the book The Richest Man in Babylonby George S. Clason).

Become a Solopreneur

“Fear is False Evidence Appearing Real”

If you are among the people who got laid off or fired from your job, utilize your time to become a solopreneur as there are not a lot of jobs available in the market right now.

So, what do I mean by solopreneur? Let me explain.

If you currently have a skill that you are good at, find a way to monetize it. It could be as simple as hair styling or car detailing or makeup.

Leverage your social media, and you never know you may not need a job in the future. This small little action can open up massive opportunities in your upcoming future.

Just try it out!

Self-monitoring

“The unexamined life is not worth living” — Socrates

Let me ask you a question.

When was the last time you monitored your autopilot life, your actions, or your habits?

My guess is never, and again I know the reason coming in your mind lack of time but, now you have ample.

So, start observing yourself for the initial few days and make a list of things on where you spend your time also notice your current habits.

If most of your time and habits do not contribute towards your personal growth, it’s time to change. Remember, Habits can either make you or break you.

Final Thoughts,

In a nutshell, we all have got busier than ever. However, COVID-19 has given us a pause to take a step back and an opportunity to scan our lives. So rather than passing this limited but most precious time, why not invest in it.

Share your thoughts below in the comments and let me know how you have utilized your TIME during COVID-19.
